Connie crashes sim

Post by HE11DUDE04 »

Hi, whenever I load my connie and just my connie into my sim (P3D V5) It freezes and crashes. Event viewer says that Prepar3d.exe stopped interacting with windows. I've had this for a while now but just assumed it was a cockpit repaint that I installed which now I see isn't the case.

Hello,

Is the Connie installed with the proper P3Dv5 installer HE11DUDE04, or are any files ported from P3Dv4?

Thanks,
Nick

Yeah I used the v5 installer and made sure that nothing was there from v4 before running it.

Okay, thanks. Could you post the full crash log please as it should show the faulting module. Could you also let us know which aircraft loads with your default P3Dv5 scenario?

Cheers,

My default scenario aircraft is the F-35 and here's what event viewer said.

"The program Prepar3D.exe version 5.0.31.35253 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

Hmm - unfortunately no useful info there. Any mods to the Connie installed? You mention a cockpit repaint.

Yeah I did but since then I've completely removed all connie files and repaints and reinstalled so to my knowledge it should be fine now if that was the issue.

Yes, it seems to be something specific with your setup causing it HE11DUDE04. I'd recommend resetting your P3Dv5 config by deleting the Prepar3D.cfg file in this folder: "C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5".

This is with P3Dv5 HF2 installed if I recall correctly HE11DUDE04? If so, is it a clean install of the new P3D sub-version?

Thanks,

If you just did a client update to P3Dv5, I'd really recommend a full clean install to the latest version, including deleting the contents of P3D's three generated folders.

C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5
C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5
C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5

Thanks,

I deleted the generated folders with no luck but I'll have to try a fresh install at some point when I can and I'll let you know how it goes.

Let us know how you get on, the rule of thumb with P3D seems to be, when in doubt if you have successfully done a part update, go back and do a full clean update.

cheers,
Lewis
