I can't get the connie up and running. I have tried a myriad of things ranging from reinstalling to opening default aircraft first. All my other a2a products work very well. Basically p3dv5 freezes and closes when ev
er the connie is selected.

Re: Connie freezes p3dv5
Hello David,
I think the first thing for us to check is that you're using the separate P3Dv5 installer for the Connie rather than an older version for P3Dv4 etc?
Thanks,
Nick

Yes i was using the same method of installation as other p3dv5 a2a aircraft. Installer from a2a store marked for p3d v5.

Re: Connie freezes p3dv5
Okay, thanks David.
It might be worth deleting the log.dat file for the Connie just in case something has become corrupted within this file. To do this, just delete the "Documents\A2A\FSX\L049" folder.
If the problem persists, please can you let us know if P3D shows any error messages when it shuts down. Assuming it doesn't, could you copy and paste the contents of the event log from one of the times this has happened? You can find these logs using the Windows Reliability Monitor.
Finally, could you let us know the full path of the folder where you've installed the Constellation.
Regards,
Nick

Re: Connie freezes p3dv5
Thank for the info David.
Unfortunately these AppHangs in P3D can be tricky to pin down. As a quick Google of the issue shows, they can happen with all sorts of add-ons depending on the user's system and software environment. I'd recommend that you start by reverting P3D back to its default settings, ideally by deleting the Prepar3D.cfg, and then check if the sim still hangs when you load the Connie.
If it does, could you let us know if any other add-ons are running concurrently. For example, scenery, GPS add-ons or utilities like FSUIPC?
Also, if you can give us a bit of basic info on your PC specs it might help a bit.
Regards,
Nick

Re: Connie freezes p3dv5
Im running a Intel core i7-9700f , with 32 gigs of ram, and a Nvidia geforce rtx 2070. Windows 10 , updated. All other A2A products work nicely. P3d v5 settings about mid range. Active sky beta version is also being used. Not using EA. Hope that helps.

Re: Connie freezes p3dv5
I have tried restarting the sim with settings defualt. Also have tried no orbx, active sky, or even joysticks plugged in. I fear im at the end of my tether on this one.

Re: Connie freezes p3dv5
Hi David,
Thanks for the additional info. You have pretty similar hardware and add-ons to me by the sounds of it. Certainly, there's nothing you list which suggests an explanation. Following generic advice to address CTDs such as this is sometimes helpful. However, you may wish to wait until the next P3Dv5 update is released, as it's likely to include stability enhancements.
In the meantime, I'll attempt to reproduce the issue and will you you know if I'm successful in this respect.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Connie freezes p3dv5
Understood. p3dv5 has not fully lived up to my expectations. It is unfortunate but this is the world we live in. Consider my purchase of the connie a donation to your wonderful company. Thanks for the effort. If there is anything else I can do to help let me know. I thought maybe the connie would give a brake from studying piper aerostar POH's. Lol. Yes im that excited.
Re: Connie freezes p3dv5
I'm running into this issue as well. As soon as I try to load the Connie, P3Dv5 5.0.31.35253 hangs and is terminated by Windows.
I only installed P3Dv5 a short time ago. I added a couple of A2A aircraft (using the P3Dv5 installers), OrbX scenery and FSUIPC. I use P3DWX for weather. Apart from that, this P3D install is pristine.
Just as David reported, other A2A aircraft (e.g. the C172) work without issues. I tried the steps Nick recommended, but nothing made a difference. I also tried running P3D without FSUIPC and without launching SteamVR.
My system: Windows 10 (2004), Ryzen 9 3900X, 32GB, 1080ti (latest Nvidia drivers), Valve Index.
My P3D graphics settings are conservative to achieve the framerates needed for VR. I played with the settings, but the hang was inevitable.
I was so excited to fly her again after an extended simming hiatus. The Connie is the only aircraft I own for P3Dv5 that I'm interested in flying and that can get me to altitudes where the difference between MFS's and P3D's graphics doesn't make me wanna cry.
