deicer pressure gauge without function?

Post by Zacke »

Hey guys,

does the deicer pressure gauge have any function? As far as I understand it shows the pressure available to hold the wing boots tight and with wing de-ice activated the pressure shown should fall. But I can't see any reaction here at all - it only shows a static pressure 1.4 if engines are running.

Thanks in advance,
Zacke

My understanding is that the suction gauge should be steady and that the de-ice pressure gauge would fluctuate positively as the boots are cycled. If the suction gauge is not steady ( not indicating suction) then the boot(s) are not intact. Good question, Zacke.

Maybe someone with more in-depth knowledge can weigh in ?
