I downloaded and installed the latest P3DV5 Constellation (Professional V5 Package). The installer placed the package where it was supposed to go (The addons package). When I then start PeDV5 the aircraft appears in the Vehicle menu and can be selected. When selected an scenario selected (default scenario) the load function appears normal, at this point the cockpit panel is visible, sound is running engines but scenery stops loading and the whole sim hangs and does not respond any further. I then have to use task manager to kill the process. This occurs only with this model and no other.
Note I have the latest version of P3DV5.1.12. It is installed as per LM installation to the correct file location. I have the latest version of Windows 10 build 10.0.19042. My system is an Intel I5-10500 3.1-5.2 GHZ CPU, Mag B460 motherboard, with an NVIDIA RTX 2070 SUPER (8 GB) GPU.

I noted in the forum a number of other users have the same issue. I have noted the advice and tried deleting the relevant cfg files - same problem continues.
You guys got a fix for this?

Re: CONNIE PROFESSIONAL HANGS P3DV5
Hello BendyFlyer,
We've had a few isolated reports of CTD's in Prepar3D v5, but haven't been able to reproduce any problems in test scenarios yet.
Just to clarify the situation a bit, is this a brand new installation of P3D v5.1.12.26829 for you, or were you able to use the Connie successfully in earlier subversions of P3Dv5 (or indeed P3Dv4) on the same PC previously?
Thanks,
Nick

Re: CONNIE PROFESSIONAL HANGS P3DV5
Nick this was a brand new installation. I had v5.1.8 just installed then it upgraded to v5.1.12. So effectively a brand new clean install of this up to date and latest version.
I checked the CPU activity when this happened the second time and it was idle that is doing nothing so it is not a buffer overflow, it appears to me that something is missing in the coding and so the cpu is waiting for the next data string and nothing so it just hangs unable to continue.

I had the Connie in FSX but was waiting for the V5 version to install on P3D.

Re: CONNIE PROFESSIONAL HANGS P3DV5
I forgot to mention this is brand new PC that has never had FSX or any other sim installed. LM is the only sim program installed and installed as per LM's requirements.

Re: CONNIE PROFESSIONAL HANGS P3DV5
Thanks for the additional info. If you don't already, please could you try launching P3D via right clicking its shortcut and selecting "more" and then "run as administrator" and see if the application still hangs.
Also, could you give us a little more info about the audio playback setup on your PC. For example, are you using speakers plugged directly into the audio ports on the motherboard or another setup?

Re: CONNIE PROFESSIONAL HANGS P3DV5
Nick - ok starting up P3DV5 as ' administrator' seems to have done the trick.
I also noted in the settings that P3D was nominating the primary device and I also switched that to REALTEK and SPEAKERS for the audio outputs. I also noted that the new NVIDIA card also can control the HD audio but I left that unselected. P3D learning centre does not provide information about which should be used or selected with this system.
Quick check flight appears all systems and controls are now functioning.
Thanks for the information and the assistance.

Re: CONNIE PROFESSIONAL HANGS P3DV5
Thanks for the update BendyFlyer. It does seem that for some users who install in the default "Program Files" folder, running the sim with admin privileges can be best. However, the behaviour on an individual system will depend on various things.
When it comes to the choice of audio playback device, it'll depend on how your speakers are physically plugged in. For example, if you have speakers within a monitor which is connected via a DisplayPort or DVI cable, the NVIDIA audio option will be relevant. The Realtek chip will be used if the speakers are plugged directly into the audio ports on your motherboard.
Anyway, hope you enjoy problem-free use of P3Dv5 on your new PC.
Cheers,
Nick

After flying with Connie with P3Dv5.3 after a while on cruise I get CTD. What can I try now?
