Any way to get rid of the rubber cords?

Post by R-2800-59 »

Dear community,

I love flying the Bo', however I am continuously distracted by the rubber cords connecting the v-tail with the aileron controls.

Is there any way to get rid of them or are they FAA mandatory?

I've never heard of a real V-tail Bonanza having the interconnect disabled. Every production aircraft in the USA has to have a type certificate from the FAA based on the aircraft's original design. Any alteration of the flight controls would require a supplemental type certificate pending further FAA approval (for a commercially produced airframe). If a pilot were to alter flight controls themself, the aircraft would essentially have to gain an FAA experimental type certificate.

I personally am not aware either Beech or a private individual altering the Vtails interconnect.
