Aileron / Rudder Trim

Post by RoyH »

I have just installed P3Dv5 with Piper Comanche 250 and Beechcraft Bonanza. Using Honeycomb Alpha yoke and only default weather at present.

The Comanche flies brilliant and will trim our to fly straight and level.

The Bonanza has a small tendency to roll right. If left unchecked this builds up to a significant angle of bank. I have tried to trim using P3Dv5 aileron trim and also rudder trim. Both are non effective. I also note there are no aileron or rudder trim controls in the aircraft. I have also tried to put more fuel in left hand tank, but does not fix the problem. In autopilot mode aircraft flies perfectly and will hold heading.

Any ideas please?

The V35 do have a trim knob on the yoke, you’ll need to have the yoke visible. It’s in the center. Can’t remember if it’s rudder or aileron trim....I guess it’s kind of both as they are somehow connected

Thank you. Thought it might be something simple I had overlooked.

Hello RoyH,

Just to add that you can assign shortcuts (an axis, buttons or keys presses) to the aileron trim knob using the Bonanza Input Configurator too.

Thanks,
