Auto pilot Bonanza

Post by Arofek »

Hello,

I can fly the Bonanza normally, but when I stop the AP ( depress FD ) , the plane goes all over the place and ends up crashing
how to make the autopilot shutdown to happen normally ?
in order, how to do? thank you

Hi

You’ll need to disconnect the auto pilot before you disconnect the FD.
Kind Regards
Tomas

Hello Arofek,

That may work for you but it's not the way the system is supposed to work. The FD button should disconnect the AP system so you're back to hand flying with no issues. I confirmed last night that I can disconnect the AP through the FD button or with the default Z key and the transition to hand flying without the FD is normal. If disconnecting the AP first works for you that's great, but if you're still seeing a control issue, maybe you can post a quick video to show the behavior?

Cheers,
Rob
