New/unseen WW2 colour image of Checkertail Clan P-51's

Post by Mysticpuma »

I visited Captain Arthur C. Fiedler, Jr. in August last-year and copied a set of three images he took at Lake Lesina as a panoramic shot, which he laid out side-by-side. The images had never been put together before electronically, so I set about it with Photoshop, I then hand-coloured the image (including every last check on the rudders and elevators)

The final result can be seen here. The image as it is,has never been seen before, although one of the three images that make the montaged final piece appears in the front cover of Herky! The Memoirs of a Checkertail Ace, they have never been joined together and certainly never in colour.

Hope you like it, cheers, MP.
