Good job putting it down. I'm glad everyone seems to be ok.

I saw this earlier on the news (without audio) and all I could think about was I'm glad he made a good landing. Airplane looks great after an emergency landing. And I really hate it when the news says things like "narrowly avoided nearby homes". It's not sheer luck that pilots avoid them

Yeah and I didn't see anything in the article telling it's readers what a great job this kid did bringing it in!

Updated news on these two lucky teens. You can't say enough about the pilots skills in handling this situation. With the engine failing he assessed his options and put the plane down on the golf course. In this case the plane is repairable and the pilot and his girl friend walked away, bruised; but not seriously injured. Good job young man!

Re: Two Teens Survive Plane Crash
I like how news reports always separate vehicles from their operators. "The aircraft they were flying in crashed..." It like when somebody gets into a car crash and they phrase it as though the vehicle and its operator were independent. I also like how the first story calls the 17 y/o a boy and the 18 y/o a woman, when they are classmates separated by probably only a few months. Local news is always a source of entertainment.
