Best Video Editor

Post by afcraig2010 »

So far I've been using Shadow Play which does a wonderful job at recording 1080p @ 60FPS. For my T-6 Edge of Envelope flight, I had to piece together two videos and I used Windows Movie Maker to do that. Unless there's an option that I didn't see, it took away my 60FPS but I still had 1080p. I would love to clip my videos as necessary and still maintain 1080p@60fps.

Does anyone know of the best free video editor to use for this? If free just can't cut it, what's the best options (within reason price wise) for paid video editors?

I use Sony Vegas 10 and its pretty effective for amateur-level editing.

Sony Vegas is even used at the professional level sometimes. Avid is a common editor used in Hollywood. There's also Final Cut (No Country for Old Men was the first movie to win an academy award and edited with Final Cut). There's also the Adobe products, which are quite good. The editing software doesn't make you a good editor, and I've seen professional short films and promos cut with Movie Maker.
