Very cool story. I think that’s why we all love Accusim so much. For those moments of terror it can bring onto us

Oliver. It is what V-tails are know for. DR=Dutch Roll.
Definition

Description
A Dutch roll is a combination of rolling and yawing oscillations that occurs when the dihedral effects of an aircraft are more powerful than the directional stability. A Dutch roll is usually dynamically stable but it is an objectionable characteristic in an airplane because of its oscillatory nature.

Nice! It appears this will be ticking many boxes off my wish list, having this inspect button and apparently instrumentation faults/errors as well. :)

Great story from the simulator as well, seems really interesting! Just about the only thing sounding a bit dubious is the failure mechanism itself, as if the airplane suddenly started banking and ailerons were jammed with right displacement. I mean, okay, they might jam in a way or another to some position they happen to be, but to jump off-center and jam there seems quite difficult to believe! :) Or perhaps I didn't quite follow what did actually happen.

Taking into account that the plane has aileron/rudder interconnect ( this one has it ? ), i wonder if such a failure could induce some rudder input as well ? :)

It jammed while in a slight turn. And yes, it does move the bungee rudder interconnect.

And, indeed, mightn’t it have been the bungee connection that got bound by something? Is that mechanism part of the preflight inspection?

I’m guessing with the gauges in the maintenance hanger the avionics can be damaged during start up and shut down if left on?

This is very interesting and exciting functionality to see being implemented. Really looking iyt as it brings us closer to the complete and true everyone of being a pilot.

Just in case anyone thinks this is "gamey", it is not. sometime I know experienced an issue with the rudder trim system in their aircraft that required then to trim significantly one side and also have to hold rudder pressure to keep the aircraft coordinated. Not fun and they had to do it for over an hour!
