Suspicious looking email from Sibwings

Post by SeattleSleeper »

Did anyone else get a suspicious looking email from Sibwings about two modifications to their original AN-2?
There are 2 links in the email, at least one of them is very suspicious as it claims to be a link to a video.
I won't post the entire link for obvious reasons, however, the partial link looks to be a spoof on the youtube domain using youtu.be instead.

No idea about Sibwings, but youtu.be was created by Google to shorten URLs, not really a fake site. That said, I never click on unsolicited email links just to be on the safe side, though.

I think I got one of those (but I'm afraid I deleted it so can't check) - though I do think it was genuine.

The difficulty these days is that most of the links in marketing emails use ad-click URLs so you can't check to see if they go back to a "sensible" domain.

A T Simulations have just released the AN2 Experimental which is excellent, perhaps this is where your confusion has arisen.

look at the AT simulations website.

:D well, there seem to be a few POLISH aircraft.. I got the ATS An-2 and it has an english panel mostly. The An-2 built for export in Poland aren‘t cyrillic. My friend who‘s flying the Shorts Skyvan for a living, handed me over a complete flight manual, he sometimes flies the An-2 in Pilsen, Czech Republic. Such an amazing and well-thought-out aircraft, really. Unfortunately the system depth in the ATS Antonov seems to be relatively low, I‘ve read the AS/Sibwings version, although the same guy behind it, is better in this regard, while it has other issues like a terrible sound set and not as good flight characteristics as the ATS version. Anyway I definitely like it :D No comparison to our beloved A2A fleet, but hey... you can‘t have your cake and eat it.
