I realize everyone’s system and situation is different but thought it worth posting just in case.
Nvidia’s latest drivers 442.59 had a significant impact on FPS in P3Dv4.5 on my PC.
Even with reduced settings it became a slideshow in some instances.
Most significant impact was panning with TrackIR.
I have since reinstalled 442.19 (clean install) and my FPS is back to normal.
Cheers, Bernard

Re: Latest Nvidia Drivers
Just out of curiosity, did you clear your shader cache after updating the driver? I'm on 442.50 now and will update after my flight to check new driver 442.59. Will check back.

Re: Latest Nvidia Drivers
I don't monitor FPS because my only concern is smoothness (and I've limited to 20-something anyway) but I updated to the latest driver yesterday and flew for a couple hours with no issues, FSX with Orbx and all sliders full right.

Yes, I clear the shader cache after each update and each change or addition to P3D.
Like I said, everyone’s setup is different.
I limit my FPS to 24 in complex areas and 30 flying in sparse areas.

Re: Latest Nvidia Drivers
Just finished flight at Southampton. Parked at gate 1 and took some FPS recordings. Exited sim, uninstalled driver 442.50, installed new driver 442.59, edit NCP, clear cache, start ASP4 and other sim programs and then back to Southampton gate 1. FPS is same or maybe even a little better.

As you say each system is different.

Re: Latest Nvidia Drivers
I've been running sims for years (FSX>P3D>XP11) - and on various systems. I've never had problems resulting specifically from nVidia updates. Similar to that mentioned above, my standard procedure is to edit/apply the NCP profile, then check the NVI profile ... and finally clearing the shader cache. Of course the sim runs a little choppily until the cache builds up again, but it soon settles down.

Re: Latest Nvidia Drivers
I have also been at this for 20+ years, never had such an issue with display drivers, that’s why I posted.
I think the problem was somehow related to my TrackIR.
Any head movement was delayed and jumpy.
Panning around caused significant stutters.
Naturally with TrackIR your head is always moving a little unless you purposely hold still.
If I locked the TrackIR and panned with the hat switch, for the most part the stutters would be significantly reduced.
The only thing I have changed is reverting to the older Nvidia driver.
I’m on my second flight now since and the problem is gone.
Strange indeed.

Re: Latest Nvidia Drivers
As a matter of interest, do you install any of the GF Experience "bloatware"? I never do.

Re: Latest Nvidia Drivers
I never update my video drivers if everything is working fine. Your just looking for trouble in my opinion. If it ain't broke don't fix it is my motto.
Re: Latest Nvidia Drivers
For me the 442.59 is the best i have ever tried or used. I lock to 25 fps and the driver has the best smoothness, negligible and very rare stutter und best fps i can get.
I don't make exact measurements, I try the new driver and noticed immediately that it runs a bit better than all predecessors. I am very satisfied and keep this driver as my favourite.

Re: Latest Nvidia Drivers
The last time I had trouble with Nvidia drivers, it was 4 months and several revisions later before my particular SLI problem was addressed. I automatically keep a copy of the current drivers that work for me, just so I can go back if there are problems.
