The passing of Tom Weiss

Post by R-2800-59 »

Dear community,

I just revisited Tom_Weiss 's great repaints for P-51 on Lockonfiles.com when I noticed an orange banner on the page's top.

https://www.lockonfiles.com/announcemen ... tom-weiss/

As I really appreciated his work and dedication on colorful repaints, this really struck me.

I am sure that his presence in this forum will not be forgotten. Let's all pick our favourite repaint of his vast collection (mine's that one: https://www.lockonfiles.com/files/file/ ... arget-tug/ ) and enjoy what he has created.

Rest in Peace!

What a loss of such a great talent. It is nice that someone is trying to keep his works available.

We've all got to go sometime, but it's the 'sudden' I don't care for. Damned shame.

Very sad news indeed. I favored Tom’s work across a number of different aircraft and platforms. A great talent and member of the community who will be missed.

Horrible news to wake up too indeed. I think its fair to say the majority of us had at least one of his creations be it from FSX, P3D, DCS or IL-2. I've been in contact with Tom on and off for many years now, my whole A2A career I am sure. This utterly sucks.

I've just read about him passing away over on the DCS forum. His repaints for the P3D Aerosoft Twin Otter were first class. RIP, Tom. :(
