Combat Flight Simulator 3

Post by GaryRR »

As A2A has stuff for CFS 3 which I had years ago and could barely run, could anyone post a good link to download it. Also is anyone running it on win 10. If so, how?

I got it to run but not well. It behaved oddly. I was able to install the big freeware WWII mod packages but frankly they only seemed to make everything worse. My nostalgic trip down memory lane lasted all of one evening. Some things really are better left in the past.

Anyhow, the FirePower CD was the only CFS-3 product released by A2A Simulations (back when it was Shockwave Productions). Some of the models were also used for the FS2004 CD "Heavy Bombers & Jets," which subsequently kicked off the Wings of Power warbirds line for FS2004 and later FSX. FirePower was re-released in 2006 on the Aircraft Power Pack DVD with a bonus P-51D that had firing guns but as I recall no brakes.

Edit: A2A Store link to FirePower download.

I successfully installed CFS3 V1.0 in Windows 10 but it would not run. I installed the 'No-CD patch' for V1.0 and it would then run. I did the update to version 3.1 no joy. I have not tried it with the 3.1 " No-CD patch" as yet. They are both available at fly away simulations if anyone would like to try it for themselves. I have always used these patches as having to put the CD in the tray to run the game was a nuisance. Can't vouch for these files from this site as I already had the patches on a CD.
