Would A2A take on a Cessna 140?

Post by Busty_Bomber »

This super vintage old school thing is as old as it gets. Seen Aeroplane Heaven have a go at bringing the plane into P3D. I do like their work, they offered an amphibious version as well as land runner. Plenty cool features two but it's not A2A you know. Would you guys think it's worth doing your version of it?

I would love it… but… how about a Cessna 195 :P combining the best of all worlds: shoulder wing, tail dragger, radial engine. Oh and now I can‘t hold back the Beaver lol

I would much prefer that they concentrate on getting a decent twin, A2A badly need one. Just my humble opinion

The C195 would be excellent as would any of the higher powered single engine turbocharged Cesena's.

The Aeroplane Heaven Cessna 140 is the early model. In 1949, Cessna introduced the 140A, a new variant with aluminum-covered wings and single wing struts instead of the fabric wing covering, dual "V" struts, and jury struts fitted on earlier models. That's the one I'd like to see.

But if A2A was going to make another Cessna high-wing single, I'd really like for it to be the 1965 A185E with the 300 hp Continental IO-520-D. With standard tires, tundra tires, float and skis, please. I'd get it painted to look just like Frank Sylvestri's 185 at Half Moon Bay Airport. I once had to vacuum out that airplane because of a "burial at sea" that went awry.

Thank you

+1 on a 195. There's not really a good one out there.

A 185, or an A185, would be brilliant! An aircraft I've got great memories of, and one of Cessna's top performers in what comes to utility aircraft.

Super Viking? My plane is available for test flights. :)

It is similar performance wise to a Debonair, so it might not be good (unique) fit for A2A's product line, but it's available for consideration.

Old friend Debbie Gary wrote the Bellanca Pilot Proficiency Manual and flew a Viking on the show circuit for a while. I loved the Viking. Built like a battleship (only stronger I think :-).
I remember at some of the shows I did where Deb had a Viking routine on the schedule Bellanca had two Sumo wrestlers that would stand on each wingtip and jump up and down on the wing.
Quite an airplane.

I'm loving it. It handles bumpy air very well and it does look stout. I think the landing gear are the only weak point.
