msfs flight dynamics

Post by makapala »

Just playing with a certain new Warrior release and as you know it’s my training aircraft. Stuff’s not right with drag, sink, power compared to real life and dare I say the Cherokee. I think it must be MSFS or me. It just lands wrong.

I can’t imagine the complexities of getting form drag, power settings and ground effect in that sim but it seems impossible at the moment

A2A will be able to do it.

Yeah, I'm no expert but I purely use msfs for the views.
I did get the piper arrow and turbo arrow. They are an improvement on what was previously there, aircraft wise. But this is why I've reinstalled p3d alongside, so I can experience some great aircraft. Plus majestic said they won't be developing their dash8 for MsFS for a long time!!

But, back on topic, if anyone can, A2A can.

I actually found the warrior flying circuits from Manchester EGCB to be very close in feel and performance. Take off acceleration on the grass was about right, climb performance and power settings and handling in the circuit were pretty good. Full flap approach and side slip into landing and holding the flare with noticeable ground effect all felt good. I guess there are a lot of variables with PC flight simulation that can lead people to different conclusions.
All controls set to fully linear. Very happy with it and definitely shows what the sim is going to be able to do in the future. Hurry up A2A!

How many of us have had take offs and landings like this in MSF? Along with weather like this, when we all say "Sod this! I'm changing to scattered clouds!"
With the right equipment I've done take offs and landings just like this in MFS and I wonder how many people complain that this airplane or that airplane doesn't fly right!
Just sayin'
Oh, the 'right equipment' is a Fulcrum yoke. It adds a whole new dimension!
