Can you elaborate and/or offer a comparison?
I have P3Dv4.5 along with Logitech Switch/Multi-Panel, Realsimgear G430 and Chaseplane. I've heard the Logitech panels don't work with V5 which is preventing me from moving forward.

I used to fly only FSX and my setup is a Thrustmaster TWCP throttle and a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro twisting flight stick and I have just really not upgraded to P3D until yesterday

Hi awash2002

of course you're loving it; everyone knew you would.

I think P3Dv5.2HF1 is absolutely ace; immersive and seriously just like you are really in the plane, the favourite Bonanza and ALL the fantastic A2A planes, and flying the plane as correctly as you can; not just like playing a computer game for visual thrills.

Out of interest, are you using the Orbx scenery (world/regional/airport/trees/HD buildings)? I think Orbx and it's to-be-trusted Partners are amazing.

So pleased that you took a plunge, walked into a dark room, and got a fabulous outcome.

Hoping the key developers will see things the same way as all of us and maintain 'n develop their products with P3D in mind; our credit cards are at the ready!

Can you highlight the significant differences specific to the Bonanza between v4.5 and v5.2HF? I know there are plenty of YouTube side-by-side comparisons but those are lacking in many respects.

Few other questions if you don't mind-

1.) I have heard there are more options with setting specific views thereby decreasing the need for such add-ons like Chaseplane. Is that accurate?

2.) When upgrading from v4.5 to v5.0, is the continuation from v5.0 to v5.2HF done separately or is it automatic with the v5.0 purchase?

3.) Are there any negatives with the upgrade specific to the A2A Bonanza? Not interested in any other aircraft.

Thanks for your time.

Hi Les

I'm not technical, but I'll do my best cos I didn't want to ignore you, Les. I've put down my thoughts as they occur, rather than conform to your sequence.

My ONLY regret is that Vertx DA-62 ran on P3D 4.5 but does not run on v5.

I don't tweak (occasionally used) external views so I don't see any change, sorry Les

Bonanza works perfectly on v5 and I assert my liberty that A2A Comanche, Cherokee, T-6 Texan, Spitfire are totally splendid.

There is no additional charge to update from P3Dv5 to P3Dv5.2HF1. It does not happen automatically, Les. You are in control! How did I do it? They all said the same thing but I printed out 3 documents: P3D own guides; our A2A Nick posting to Dudley H (the thread was around November 2020); the excellent Nick Cooper Orbx v5SupportForum (May 2020). Unusually calmly I slowly complied with their instructions and P3D's installation software worked perfectly. Sometimes I just uninstall and reinstall the new 'Client'. Sometimes I go the whole hog and uninstall and install the whole simulator (and then Orbx and then the A2A planes). On first read it sounds a faff but it is not a problem in reality. Your hands might sweat a bit though. Specifically, when you want to update Bonanza, you just follow theA2A wizard.

Why did I upgrade? Firstly, weakly, cos psychologically I wanted to treated myself, product-supportively splash the cash, and feel up-to-date. Secondly, I have trust and loyalty to the uber-experts (A2A, P3D, Orbx) (I don't do cynicism or conspiracy stuff) I trust Scott Gentile completely and it would more likely be dysfunctional to mistrust Scott, wouldn't it. So if the experts say that an upgrade is superior (and so it's consequent increments/updates) then I believe 'em. Thirdly, functionally I wanted to pre-empt the likelihood that something (plane, scenery) I might want will be specifically designed to be compatible with P3Dv5.

Bottom line is the taste of the pudding, or sausages, is in the eating. Simply, I'm very satisfied with P3Dv5.2HF1 and how it works AND looks..... no negatives from me, including EA and EVEN the darker cockpit at start up (in the shadow .... if you cancel internal shadows, I think it looks a bit false)

If I think of more then I'll post again but I hope that the experts, reading this, will chip-in with the technical stuff, rather than my subjective opinions. There'd be no bad reason why you should not stay with P3D v4.5 for the present. What would you say, Les, to someone who has v4.1 and was considering updating to 4.5?

Rod,

The Vertx runs great.

Just do this:

You‘ll need to turn on the cockpit lights though.

Vielen Dank Marc

Gut gemacht!

Only real life pilots should fly planes; not sim pilot me.

I'll leave the triple bypass to a specialist heart surgeon who can deal with unforeseen consequences

I'd seen that AVSIM 'fix for DA-62' thread before. Just read it again and got the same impression as before .......it works for the techies but I'm not a techy.

Tschuss tschuss

Rod EGBB (might have to fly tonight if it's too damn hot for sleep; not so bad an outcome.... tho' may need a beer or three for sustenance

I have moved to p3d in the last two weeks. My impressions...

Started flying in pc sims in the '80s after 10 years of RL flying several types single engine GA aircraft. The pc sims kept me in the air in a virtual way. Not the same but better than just gazing into the sky as real people flew real aircraft above me. I flew every version of microsoft flight sims. I now also fly in IL2, DCS and also the best WWII comabat sim (Aces High 3). That said, my move to P3D v5 gives me the best virtual GA experience uising A2A aircraft I have had on a pc since the 80's. Actually ever. And also with the Orbx scenery.

When A2A gets into the new MSFS I will try that. Until then it's P3D for me.

Just my opinion.
