A6M5 Zero and Bf109e! Any fans?

Post by Nachtflieger »

These two planes are really underrated; they were the best-flying fighters in the world in 1940. Light weight, low wing loading, light controls, and responsive engines made them a joy to fly.

The Spitfire MkI was nearly identical in performance to these and remains popular of course; the Zero, Emil, and Spitfire had almost identical performance overall. Give 'em a all a spin.

The sounds of the Zero are especially excellent, btw.

I understand they're Axis Powers aircraft and aren't too popular (everyone loves a winner) but as pure aircraft they are better daily flyers than the heavy, powerful Mustang and Jug.

It's a darn shame WoP never produced a B-25 Mitchell.
