Dear A2A,
The start has been my favourtie add on ever, and I never had has much fun since then, when COTS was released 10 years ago... I logged a scary amount of hours in it and now that we all have P3D4, I dearly miss it.
I perfectly understand that A2A has moved on in term of business, that heavies and warbirds and FSX/P3D belong to the past and you are now looking forward to GA birds for MSFS. Good for you and I have no doubts the products will be excellent
But...
Since it seems that the 377 is officially abandonned as:
1/ Our beloved Lewis has to repeat every other month that no, there are no plans to bring the start to P3D4
2/ It has been mentionned that the strat could be updated following the Connie release (but it never came to life)
3/ It is technically the oldest product and it does not have the technology of the later releases
For the 3 reasons above, I think A2A does not count the B377 as a "business-relevant" airplane anymore and I wonder if people even still buy it.
So...
Would it be reasonable to ask for the source code (secured by a license such as GPLV2 in order to guarantee that anything community-develloped from it remains free), and let the community do the job to bring it to V4 ?
I am willing to work on it, and I have a few other things in mind, such as new engine sounds from actual wasp majors that I developped a while ago.
I will perfectly understand if you answer "hell no, we don't do that here"
But still, I try because the start has been my favourite airplane ever...
Thanks and have a nice day!

B377 is "abandonware": would it be possible to give the source code to the community, so that we update it ourselves ?

Hello,
no sorry this is not possible. The product is still an active selling product, using our technology, certainly not abandonware.
thanks,
Lewis - A2A
