Black metal????

Post by curtis72561 »

I'm guessing this is from the PBR update as it happened to the 182 as we all saw.

If this is the issue is there any way to get rid of that update or fix the issue within the Cub files or P3D files?

Hi Curtis - do you have any shader mods (e.g. TomatoShade or similar) installed for P3Dv4?

Thanks,

No sir. I am running P3Dv4.5 and that's it.

Okay, the aircraft definitely isn't being rendered correctly in your installation for some reason. Have you made sure that at least client and content components of P3Dv4 are updated to v4.5 standard? Also, have you made any changes to the installed files (trying to use old repaints, etc)?

Thanks,

I went back and looked and the only thing I updated was the client. I made no changes to the original files. I tried to use a repaint from FSX which you will see in screen shots but all was in that paint folder and nothing in the original folders. I then realized we will need a new paint kit because there are small changes through out. I now noticed all "bear" metal is this way on the Cub. It doesn't seem to be effecting any other A2A aircraft since I did away with the PBR 182. I checked the 172, 182, 180, 250, P51, T6 and V35 and all seems fine.

Okay, thanks for confirming. In this case you'll need to update at least the 'content' component of P3Dv4 too, otherwise no PBR content will work correctly.

I was just coming on to update. Updated everything and I think all is well. :D Will this fix the 182 issue? Tell you what, I'll quit being lazy and will try it.

Will there be a paint kit for this beauty?
