June 14th, running the glacier

Post by Tobus75 »

Today we will recon some glaciers in Cubs.
We will start at Z14, Tazlina, Alaska. If you want to fly floats, start at 5AK, Smoky lake, which is just next to it Z14.

From there we will fly south over Tazlina lake at low level, ascending as we reach the glacial run off into the lake.
We will continue on over Tazlina glacier, climbing to about 8000ft.
At the top we veer left a bit towards the Shoup glacier, following that down into Shoup bay and the Valdez arm.
Following the Valdez arm we will head towards 7KA Tatitlek for a nice warm meal.
Float flyers can land at the 7KA SPB, right next to 7KA main.

I will run normal wheeled. As said water lovers can take the float equiped Cub.
Those who want to can go tundra wheel or ski to try to land on the glaciers. I would not recommend it as its nearing summer, but .. what's the worst that can happen?
Take Heidi at your own risk, as her added weight might give you problems going over the top at 8500ft.
