Friday, August 21 - Great Rift Valley Tour - Third Leg

Spitfires this time, so a nice easy 400-mile hop. (I flew this in the Mk II at 3" and 2,200 RPM, giving me an indicated airspeed of around 240 mph. True was around 235 knots. The trip took 1 hr 45 min, and I had nine gallons left on landing.)

From Naivasha, HKNV, we head south through Hell's Gate National Park and past Mount Suswa and Lake Magadi to Lake Natron. A gentle right turn brings us to the crater of Ngorongoro, the world's largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. From there we head west to cross Lake Victoria, landing at Bukoba, Tanzania, HTBU.
