As Other Ian mentioned on Sunday, we've never done the Philippines. So this week, to correct that oversight, we're taking T-6s to explore the island of Luzon. We start at Subic Bay, pass Clark Air Base and Mount Pulag, Luzon's highest mountain and home of the Kabayan burial caves, and continue north to Laoag International.

Re: Sunday, August 30 - Luzon, Philippine Islands
Started flying my T-6 to get ready for the upcoming Sunday flight. Made a few takeoffs and landings to get back in the groove. Average landing grade: OK. Then, I pre-positioned my Six at the departure field at Subic Bay, Philippines. Man, that place was freaking LEGEND back when I was an E-3 on DD547, the USS Cowell. Never got there, and it's probably just as well. But here we are, and we'll get a nice, calm, scenic tour, led by our intrepid Squadron Leader. I am totally looking forward to it.
