Post by Paughco »

Our mission for this coming Friday, codenamed LWD11, is to continue in a general southerly direction, from El Carano Airport in Quibdo, Colombia (SKUI) to Francisco Secada Vignetta Airport in Iquitos, Peru (SPQT). Our route will be over Mountains (with volcanoes, natch), and a blast across steamy jungles to the Amazon River. Hey, we can't really say we saw South America if we don't get a chance for a canoe trip on the Amazon, right? I saw on YouTube that the South American crocodiles are much mellower than the African crocodiles we saw on our Great Rift trip. But the piranhas are supposed to be a whole other story. The flight will be 670 miles, which will take us about 2 hr 29 min in our trusty P-51s. We'll actually cross the Equator on this flight!

Meet: 1845z or earlier to check out your airplane, warm it up, etc.
Take Off: 1900z
Sim time for take off: 1100 local
Weather: Real, Historical for the time and date of our flight, or custom if bad.
Network: JoinFS
Server: Digital Themepark
Comms: A2A Discord.

I plan to run full wing tanks and about 45 gallons in the fuselage tank. We're getting into serious mountains, so make sure your O2 system is fully serviced and checked out.

I'll post a similar message about this flight on the MP Section of the A2A Discord Channel, which will include the flight plan in .pln format.

Thank you for your hospitality and a very enjoyable, albeit, demanding flight. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to fly 670nm straight off. Flying past at least five serviceable airports. Which, as it turned out, was no bad thing. There was only one take off and one landing to make a balls up of. :D
I'll be back.👍
