Welcome to the first leg of the Misfit Squadron's Trans-Siberian Adventure, where we follow the famous railroad across Russia from Moscow to Vladivostok. The whole trip is about 4,500 miles, but we start out easy with a little 220-mile jaunt from Moscow to Nizhny Novgorod, the sixth largest city in Russia and home of the Shukhovskaya Bashnya Na Oke, the world's only open-work hyperboloid transmission tower.

The closest Moscow airport to the Kazansky Railway Terminal from which the train departs is Chkalovskoe, Z25Y, but it may not be present in all sceneries. Domodedovo, UUDD, and Ramenskoye, UUBW, are alternates. If we use multiple departure airports, after take off we'll rendezvous over the Maryina NDB and proceed from there.

The chart for the first leg looks like: https://skyvector.com/?ll=55.9530956050 ... 55E%20UWGG

Suggested aircraft for the first leg: T-6s, Cherokees, 172s, 182s. Subsequent legs will vary in length due to the paucity of airfields in Russia. The shortest distance between airfields on our route is 152 miles, the longest almost eight hundred. We'll choose each week's aircraft accordingly.

Meet at: 1830 GMT for a 1900 departure.

Meet on: Digital Theme Park on JoinFS.

Comms through A2A Discord channel.

Start at: Chkalovskoe, Z25Y, or nearest.

Local takeoff time: 1100.

Weather: Real, historic.

Note: As far as "following" the tracks, rather than match every twist and turn I propose that we simply stay within gliding range of the railroad throughout the trip, which should keep it in sight; also, there are sections where the only "civilization" is a train that comes through on those tracks twice a week.
