P-40 CTD in P3D4.5

Post by Rainero »

Hi,
thank you for the P-40. Unfortunately I can not check it out, because I'm having a hard time to get this baby running.

As soon I have the P-40 installed, the P-40 and the A2A C182 Skylane will crash my P3D. All other airplanes seem to run fine as usual. Also the Skylane runs fine as long as the P-40 is not installed. With the P-40 installed, when I select one of the A2A planes I can load the plane and see the cockpit for about 10 seconds. Then P3D crashes to desktop.
I installed both planes several times in various combination and order. No success. I installed all A2A updates, P3D is patched with the latest HF. Windows 10 is up to date. I disabled AV during installation.

I get no error messages except this one in the event log:

Faulting application name: Prepar3D.exe, version: 4.5.13.32097, time stamp: 0x5d8abf93
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.18362.719, time stamp: 0xb31987d3

Any idea?

Rainero

Hello,

can you please tell us a little more about your setup?

Where are you installing the add-ons too etc?

Is your Direct X9 all updated etc from the install?

Is your 182 the P3Dv4 version?

thanks,

Hi Lewis,

> can you please tell us a little more about your setup?
The P3D installation is on a separate drive (SSD). I have lots of add-ons installed Orbx, PMDG and others.

> Where are you installing the add-ons too etc?
I am installing all add-ons outside the P3D directory, whenever possible. As advised by LM. I tried installing both A2A planes insied and outside the P3D folder, it makes no difference.

> Is your Direct X9 all updated etc from the install?
Yes, the DirectX installer is running from the installers. I see no issues, error message or something.

> Is your 182 the P3Dv4 version?
Sure. It works flawlessly, as long as the P-40 is not installed.

Version is 20.2.22.0
P-40 Version is 19.5.24.0

Hello,

are you installing the 182 and the P-40 to the same location, by default they should auto detect and install to the same location.

thanks,

Yes, both planes are inside my D:\Addons\A2A\ folder, outside the P3D folder which is D:\Prepar3D v4\.

Deleting the prepar3D.cfg did the trick. It is working now.

Thank you for your support.
