Jigsaw, where was this scenery you captured her in?

Thanks!

It actually three sceneries, all of them from orbx:

1. the airport is Stark's Twin Oaks (7S3)
2. most of the landscape is the FTX Pacific Northwest region (aka NA Blue)
3. the downtown area of the city is the free Portland CBD scenery.

@Jigsaw - where do we get Moonbeam Mcswine???

Post by Hobart Escin »

Jigsaw,

Can you please tell us where/how to get Moonbeam Mcswine and the new environment map you used in those previous screenshots? That must be the single most stunning paint I've ever seen on a FSX plane, bar none.

Thank you.

Accu-Sim P-51 Screenshots

@ Jigsaw

I followed Tim's instructions to make the plain warbird texture shine like this, but how do I add it to Moonbeam? It does not have the same file in the texture folder.

Thanks, Jigsaw. I also have FTX Pacific Northwest region (aka NA Blue) and the free Portland CBD scenery. I love what ftx does, and many of their scenery's I have from other publishers in FS9.
I would like to add all the ftx scenery's but limited budget. You capture some very nice images!

Just copy the env.dds file into the livery folder that you want to use it with, even if there isn't a file like that already. It will automatically use it. And if you want to use the environment map with all the P-51 variants, just copy the file into the folder that is just called "texture" without any livery suffix. That one is a global texture folder that all the variants share (it's being linked to in the texture.cfg file in each livery folder). There should be an original env.dds in that folder so make a backup first.

The link was already in my screenshot posting. Here it is again. ;)

Guys,

Thanks for the info about where to download. Everything works great with the env.dds file mod, and the textures look awesome, wow!

Hi Torsten, you need to download the updated skinpack from here. Your screenshots show a mix of the old and new panel layout under the right rear tail wing. I suspect you haven't installed the updated bitmap files.
