Given the amount of time I spend flying these things and the number of screenies of me and my buddies flying I have, I thought I'd become a bit more active on here. Here's me and a friend flying some American warbirds with roundels the other evening!

Went up for a quick sortie this afternoon with a buddy over Duxford in the ponies, Ferocious Frankie and Frenesi. Performed two aerobatic tailchases over the field, each taking a turn at leading. Great fun!

After 400 hours on the clock, the Comanche is fine, but a bit slow on long range trip…
Then, I got a new toy today. It should make it, (the gas bill apart…)
Before taking-off and to avoid crashing it, I have yet to read the 65 pages of the manual… :D

Good looking bird anyway.

Ok, time for a first report after 2 hours flying time… Good news, I did not crash. But, the thing is I feel like it was the first time I flew… Taking off is ok, not very clean as the aircraft tends to live its own life, but with some rudder correction (and breaks…), it flies. Once airborne, it is still a matter of trim correction to keep the level, and the engine management is a bit demanding.
The worse is to come, landing. This aircraft is fast and losing speed is not easy, not to mention once slowed down, keeping her at the right approach speed on the right slope is a real task. Ok, I managed to bring her back on the ground in one piece..."posé pas cassé" as we say here, but there is obviously room for improvement.
Kudos to A2A, although I never flew a P51 of course, the flight modeling is second to none.
