P3D Pilot Manual

Post by wsciutti »

Hi all,

Just an observation from pg50 of the P3Dv4 P-51 Pilot's Manual: "Keep the airplane in a 3-point attitude until you have
plenty of airspeed. In a normal takeoff, the rudder trim tab is sufficient to make the torque almost unnoticeable." :?

Did whoever wrote those lines fly the same P-51 I am????

Best Regards,

Jack

LOL I'm thinking he's an optimist...and he probably didn't get that impression while learning to fly it...

There was a lot of discussion on this subject some time ago. The rudder tab setting has nothing to do with torque control while on the runway but only is effective when the aircraft is Airborne, off the runway.
