Flaps 10 gear up. Passing down thru 170 mph, trimmed for 0-500 fpm decent, 30in manifold, gear up I get extreme buffeting. Can anyone else repeat this.

Sounds like you are about to stall, does it change if you add power and speed increases? I am not a RL pilot or P-51 expert, Dudley can say if this is realistic. You mentioned 30 inches manifold pressure, what about the prop? If it is at high pitch angle you might have not enough power at this configuration.
