Metalic shine on repaint? [Solved]

Post by Bazonka »

Hello!

First I want to say that I am new to Photoshop CC and relative new in Painting in general... A time ago I did some repaints with GIMP.
Now I did my first Repaint for the Conni and I am happy in overall, but I dont get it how I can add the shiny bare metal look... Following the link you can see my paint and the default TWA paint for comparison.

Do you have any hints for a new painter?
Thank you!

I already know that the Alpha channel is required for this to work. But the paintkit already has an Alpha channel.

I solved it.
I use DXTBmp for converting into DDS... I just made the mistake and exported into DXT1 which has no Alpha :P

If you now follow the link - https://i.postimg.cc/9QHFsPpM/2019-20-06-000549.png you can see my finished repaint with shiny polished metal.
