This one definitely falls into the category of 'repaints I should never have started' due to various fiddly bits that I encountered along the way . However, I'd had my eye on this particular livery for a while: perhaps because it rather reminds me of the splendid 'raspberry ripple' paint scheme used by the RAF's Royal Aircraft Establishment/Empire Test Pilots School.
Maybe the owner of the real 1967 Cherokee C that the repaint is based on fancied himself as a test pilot? (don't we all? ). Anyway, I think it looks rather good in this aerial shot on A.net. (So does the pilot judging by the toothy grin! )
Here's my attempt:
It comes with a tone-tone interior. No idea what the upholstery on the real thing is like...
It's available here.
Regards,
Nick

Oh I like it a lot! Very British, reminds me of the old BA liveries, must be the colours and stripes.

Lewis

Wow, that looks fantastic! I was planning on not flying tonight and watching Fry and Laurie as Jeeves and Wooster, but now I may have to rethink that!

Thanks chaps! Yes - definitely rather patriotic Lewis, but it also strikes me as having a somewhat Gallic air with the red, white and blue (that's probably what comes of drinking too much Syrah! ) Anyway, because there's been a slight shortage of F-reg Cherokee repaints so far, I made a fictional French version.
Et voilà!
I tried not to do anything silly, such as using a glider or homebuilt registration!
Download link, or if you prefer, télécharger.
P.S. Joe - Jeeves and Wooster always gives me a good chuckle! Your comment also set me off digging around on YouTube for an old Fry and Laurie sketch I remember from way back. It's not exactly as I recalled it, but still rather funny: duel sketch.

Beautiful, and thanks for your hard work
Have you done any repaints for the A2A Cessna?

Thanks molleh. No - not yet anyway. To tell the truth, I've become a bit obsessed with the Cherokee! There's just... something about it which really 'does it' for me!

Thanks chaps! Just to let you know I'm in the process of gradually uploading the repaints I've done to the Avsim file library (and editing my posts here with new download links). After many years of lurking on the forums over there, I also finally broke cover with my first post - about the Cherokee!
Cheers,
Nick

Re: G-AVSF - raspberry ripple(ish) repaint
Thanks maubrenta! Also wanted to take this opportunity to thank you belatedly for the great 'vintage colours' attitude indicator mod you supplied with your ZS-EBX repaint.
It a nice match for cockpits such as this one:
(photo pinched from the Gasworks Flying Group website.)
What would be really super is to have a mod for the style of heading indicator shown above too (I like the look of the classic 50s jet fighter aircraft outline). However, I've got a sneaking suspicion that this isn't possible due to the 3D model components of the gauge...
Cheers,
Nick
...Edited to say that although I like the DG gauge style above, I'm very glad A2A gave us the 'standard 6' panel layout rather than some of the variations seen in older aircraft such as G-ASWX above.
