Jeff was a very nice guy and did a lot for the warbird community.

When I was younger I used to watch Jeff's and Steve Hinton's old warbird checkout videos all the time ("Roaring Glory" and ABC's "Wide World of Flying" Warbird series). There are also several illustrative books on WWII aviation on my shelves that he authored. The wreckage of the P-38 that Jeff Ethell was killed flying in 1997, was purchased a few years back by the Texas Flying Legends Museum and is pending restoration to airworthy by Aircorps Aviation (which restored the most authentic flying P-51, "Sierra Sue II", and will surely be done to the same standard). The restoration will likely get started within the next couple years, after their P-51C restoration is completed, also being done at Aircorps.

Lewis, now how about implementing the walk around for the Mustangs, based on this? :)

That would be cool.

Just for kicks, last night, I loaded up FSX, and before firing up the steed, I watched the video of the pre-fllight...
