Re: Finished Paints and Paintkit
I want to thank EDMR_Repaints for my new plane. I wanted to post some pics but that is beyond my computer skills. Anyway the paint job follows the same design as cars I have painted for a number of racing sims and some of my RC cars. Again a big thank to EDRM_Repaints.

Just downloaded 4JK and will be flying it from Calhoun to Oshkosh can anyone suggest a fuel stop? the two airports are KCZL KOSH 2.5 hours prefered
Re: Finished Paints and Paintkit
Looks like Bloomington, IN (KBMG) is right about half way. Purdue (KLAF) is a little ways past there (another 77 nm), but gas is about 40 cents cheaper. Looks like there are a couple of places even cheaper to the north before you get into the Chicago area, but probably out of that 2.5 hour range you wanted to hit.awash2002 wrote:Just downloaded 4JK and will be flying it from Calhoun to Oshkosh can anyone suggest a fuel stop? the two airports are KCZL KOSH 2.5 hours prefered

Cool. I just flew out of MSN headed for OSH (I base my FSPax airline there); no icing observed, pretty stiff wind out of the SSW, kinda gusty, otherwise clear flying mostly.
Enjoy the flight!

Lewis-A2A ,Flieger-Marius, N324JK,
Thanks a heap for your encouragement and also to all the countless other painters whose posts I've read and studied in all the various painter forums.
I have just released my 2nd repaint. First, let me just say, I had only a basic idea of just how really awesome A2A was before I began this project. Such detail !! - Did anyone else notice that the cabin air vent on the right side of the engine cowling actually opens up; and to the degree you pull the knob? Secondly, the more I painted, the more I found there was something else I could or needed to do. To pseudo-quote Dorothy -- "Diffuse and Speculars, and Alphas, Oh My!" A month+ later, I figured I was finished when I ran out of stuff I didn't like about what I'd already done. --But, see the oops below.
You can download (oops included) here
N324JK; went with the orange antennae, thanks. Moved the GSH to the outside of the left "arm".
Matched front of prop w/paint scheme.
The pilot is wearing Bears shoelaces! A true fan.
Learned a lot about speculars and alphas to keep the cloth from looking leathery.
* Oops, after adjusting and retouching several times, forgot to turn the shadow back on under the edge of the glareshield.
Sweet home Chicago. --Orbx froze Lake Michigan (not that cold here yet), so photo is during summer.

Re: Finished Paints and Paintkit
Fantastic job, Kevin! Got it in the hangar, and managed to grab a couple of pics:
Now the hard part: figuring out which one I'm going to take up tomorrow. Thanks!

Great job! Inside and out + passenger changes, nice indeed
Now does someone want to tell me about this team or something, looks like some kind of rugby team?
cheers,
Lewis

And now, in direct response to a challenge to come up with one of my own, I give you the first (and possibly only) 182 in the Chicago Blackhawks' fleet.

Nice Jon.....
By the way, few people know this, but this is what N324JK looked like BEFORE Al worked his magic...
Yep...it's N324JK - the prequel. If, for some strange reason, you want to go old school on this plane, you can download it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/x9f9nm6cfus7k ... c.zip?dl=0
Thanks, and happy flying!

Re: Finished Paints and Paintkit
As I recall, you already had the Blackhawk idea. You just needed for someone to say it's OK to go for it. I and the rest of the community are glad you did. Looks great as always.
Your biggest fan,
Kevin
P.S. Like the old school version too.
