Hi there!
I'm repainting my C182 and I can't find how to repaint landing gear legs ...
Where is it on in the C182 Paint Kit ?
Is there a "MAP" describing the textures and to know what it is ?
Thanks for your help !

Re: C182 landing gear legs
Thank you Steve ! They were under my eyes ...
External parts are now most identified ... Just one thing still missing :
I've painted many parts with different colors to highlight it ... No luck ....
Have a great Day !

That is a shadow. It's on the 'Linear Burn' layer.
P.S. I turn every layer off and on, one at a time to identify an item by layer.

I just realised, you probably want what is causing that shadow. Silly me.
It's the Yellow bits this time.

Re: C182 landing gear legs
i think so !
I've seen one default : at the junction with parts of the fuselage (both sides and underside), a thin white line appears. I've tried to extend concerned selection ...
No luck ... Have you met such things ?

Re: C182 landing gear legs
With other models yes, but I haven't done an all over paint for the 182. Usually it's fixed by as you say, stretching the paint for the troublesome part. There could be some stray parts for the bits that are still white. A few in the T6 paint kit caught me out at the start.
To find them I would draw a red square (any bright colour will do), totally covering one half of the texture. Save it and then view the results in the sim. If the problem part still persists, I start again but this time I cover the other half. When the troublesome part is highlighted and I still can not find it, I half that red section again. Doing this will eventually show where it is.
I did this once for the P51 and identified 2 pixels, that held the colour for the underside of the dash on the Virtual Cockpit.
To speed things up, you may want to install Modelconverter X.. It loads much faster than FSX and P3D. I find it very usefull for lineing up liveries and decals.

Re: C182 landing gear legs
You'll have to be at home to download and install it.
Once installed, you run it and click on the "Import" button on top left side of the menu. You then have to navigate to the .mdl file. For the 182 it would be FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\A2A_C182\model\c182.MDL
After that you choose your paint from the "Livery" selection drop-down gadget, on the bottom right of the tool bar.
Steve.
EXTRA: You can re-fresh the scene in ModelconverterX, by clicking the two small green arrows, on the left of what looks like a red tea pot, after each fresh save of the texture. Click it twice as sometimes it is stubborn and does not re-fresh on the first click.

C182 landing gear legs
Hi Folks,
Yeah - MCX - the only way to paint... Didn't think the refresh worked - I normally just swap liveries - have to give that another try - thanks.... that would cut my load times in half...
Regards,
Scott

Since I'm swapping, back and fore between Photoshop to MCX, the first click will just switch the focus for Windows. Sometimes I have to click three times to get MCX's attention.
