Hello Fly182,

what changed on your system between it working and not working, was there some new program install, a windows update?

Are your text settings in windows at 100% default?

thanks,
Lewis

Hi Lewis, thank you for your assistance. There were some new installed programs between. But C182 menus are okay as well as other FSX aircrafts. Window's text settings are ok at default values, expecially Courier fonts.

Hello,

I wonder if you are suffering the issue in this thread;
viewtopic.php?f=83&t=70087&hilit=small+fonts#p532892

Maybe a font change on your OS has kicked in with some windows update for you.

thanks

Hi thanks, I installed different courier fonts as described in the topic but it didn't work.

By the way, I had a hdd faillure and I had just copied the spitfire folder to the new ssd disk. I mean, without installing it again, but just copying. Could it be a reason why? Maybe some your product's register key missing... However I did it with C182 and it is fine.

Hello,

yes that will be the reason, the product wont be installed correctly and will be missing files and folders. Please delete and reinstall using the correct method and you should then be ok.

thanks,

Hello,

Please can you make sure you delete everything manually and then restart the computer be reinstalling. I fear if you have been manually moving files around to get software working you may have corrupted your entire install. Was it just the Spitfire you moved or was there many other bits and pieces you have moved over using the correct install procedure. Our Accu-sim products as well as many others on the market require the correct installation procedure as many will have various files in different places to run correctly.

Some files to check for FSX on our side would be to delete the following before reinstall too;
\Documents\A2A\FSX

You can backup the .dat files if you want to keep your aircrafts time.

Upon reinstall remember to re-run the updater after successful installation also;

If you have any questions please do ask so myself, Nick or the community as a whole can help.

thanks,

Hi Lewis, I tried again but no success.

I changed "Courier" and "Courier New" to "Verdana" in the file manager.xml. The charatcher changed but I have still small fonts, even if in C182 the "verdana" labels are ok! So I cannot understand what is wrong in the spitfire

Hi, I checked, yes they are.

By the way I watched into engine_detail.xml again. I changed Courier fonts in other font types but without success as I already did. (I saw that Courier font height is 5 there).

So I'm thinking that this issue shouldn't be related to the font itself... but to what?

Hello Fly182,

Please can you let us know exactly which filename and version of the 'Courier New' font you have installed in Windows? To do this, go to 'fonts' in the Windows settings and search for 'Courier New'.

Then click on the associated entry to get more details.

For example, mine is "COUR.TTF", version 6.92.
