"Pink Lady" to return to the air

Post by R-2800-59 »

Just read in an airplane magazine that the magnificient B-17 B-17G-85-VE, S/N 44-8846 "Pink Lady" (ex "Mother and Country") has been put through engine test runs and current owner plans to return her to the skies.

I visited her twice on occasion of the "La Ferte Alais" airshows on the ground and, although she sports some patina to be honest, looks like a sure thing to get back to the air.

Very exciting as she is the only true veteran B-17 potentially airworthy, she flew 6 missions over Germany.

Where was this artical? Would love to read it. Hopefully that means it would reunite with Sally B in the UK, assuming it happens of course.

Can't see any references to this online currently, only mention is that the last time the aircraft taxied was back in 2016!

Edit: just seen this video from 2 months ago with an engine being brought back to life!
