Thanks again Ron. It's nice to have some of the old paints re-done for MSFS.

Cheers,
Mike

FS painter. You'll find most of my FS9/FSX/P3D paints here.

Polite clapping...

May I say that VH-TMW has understated colors yet is the classiest livery I have seen in a while. Well done to the owner and the painter, along with the repainter of course.
Take care, Brett

Thanks Waffler11 for the great livery!

I lived in Ohio for 62 years, Dayton area, before retiring to Florida in 2014. I covered the Western part of Ohio as my sales territory and stopped in Urbana to check on the B-17 or the USAF Museum whenever I had time.

Take care
Ed

Just a small tip.

I recommend the use of this tool for the thumbnail generation:

Thank you so much for this paint! It’s my new favorite paint to fly.

As requested by Partrk17 who claims to be the owner. Maybe he'd like to give us a little background on it. :D

Very nice repaint, Ron, and an even nicer gift to the owner.

Those bog standard thumbnails a terrible. You cannot see what they look like. Every livery looks the same.

Glad you like it. How about a little background on it. It's not that often we have a real owner of a real plane here. Except Scott of course. :D

I'll do my best. I've only owned the plane for the last year. I was initially looking for a fast 4 place plane. 182's were on the top of the list, but I kept looking for faster and faster planes which lead to considering 182RG's, 206s and 210s. Eventually I came across the Comanche and the 250/260 looked to be what I was after. That is until I found out about the 400. I ended up getting a little too excited about the performance right around when N8542P ended up on the market. I made an offer and about 100 hours later on the plane I am pleased to report that I am very happy all around, but that isn't to say that the plane hasn't taken some getting used to.

Less about me and more about the plane. To my knowledge the it was owned for most of its life by a medical professional in NYC. Based on conversations I had with previous mechanics it spent a lot of time in a hangar. Supposedly the owner had a few planes and didn't make much time for the 400. Total time on engine and airframe is ~1300. Low for the airframe but aging on the IO-720.

The airframe doesn't really have any of the common speed mods, but all the lights are upgraded to LED, and the interior was completely overhauled in 2021, as were the avionics. Most notable would be a Garmin 750xi, two GI-275's, and an STEC-3100 autopilot. What it does lack is a modern engine monitoring system, which is on the to do list.

It will do 185kt TAS up to about 8000 without breaking a sweat, albeit at a budget crushing 22gph. Economy cruise is about 165kt and 16-18gph. It makes for a great platform getting around the southern united states, but you are going to be paying on gas if you want to get there quick.

Feel free to ask any questions.
