Something in the engine air intake

Post by Manu F-JOHI »

Image

During my first flight with the Comanche today, something weird happened, at one moment the manifold pressure became to drop, I thought it needed some carburator heat, and it actually worked, but then I've noticed this thing in the engine right air intake...

I was able to remove it during the walk around after a safe landing but it didn't solve the mistery...

What is this?

Did I hit something with the prop?

Did you do a walkaround before starting the engine for your first flight?

Saw it once in PD3 with the Comanche, it's a mechanic's rag left in the intake accidentally for you to find during the walk around!

For a limited time only, you can still do the airborne walkaround to fix it, and thereafter teleport back in the cockpit afterwards. 😂

Hello! Thanks!

I must have skipped this part of my walk around before the flight, my bad, as we couldn't move the prop and there was no cover to remove I didn't really understood what to do there so I tend to skip this part to go directly to the next...Will be a lesson : never skip a part of the walk around!

For a while I thought A2A might have made a bird strike failure...But no, someone forgot a piece of fabric inside the air intake!

I suppose that sort of introduces a request... Granted, not much you can do with a 3-blade propeller, but, with 2 bladers, I'll rotate it vertical after parking (making sure the magnetos are off, mixture pulled, etc...) so birds don't get it all, um, dirty. Would be nice to be able to spin the propeller and check the screws / cracks on the nosecone, too.

Hey Lewis,

Well, I'm hooked with this aircraft, there will certainly be other posts! I'm looking forward to have one with dozens of flight hours to see how it goes! Congrat for that, best aircraft in MSFS! I was missing A2A aircraft so much, but it was difficult to go back to P3D once you begin to fly within MSFS scenery and weather...

Best

M
