Trim is not Centered Correctly
Just purchased the MSFS 250 Comanche.
The problem so far that I am having is the correct centering of the elevator trim.
See attached screenprint for visuals. All my aircraft in the MSFS hangar all have correct trim synchronizing except this new 250 Comanche.
Can this be fixed please?

Re: Trim is not Centered Correctly
Hello,
The neutral trim position in the Comanche isn't in the middle of the trim range, so if you're using an axis, you'll need to take this into account. If you have a detent for your axis in the middle position, I appreciate this may feel a little weird, but it's Piper that designed the plane this way, not us.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Trim is not Centered Correctly
I show in this thread where the trim sets to on +100 to -100 scale.
https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/a2 ... /602726/33
Neutral trim is actually -34.4%, not 0% as you may be thinking.
What you could do is affix a small label on your trim wheel to indicate where Neutral is for this plane, as it looks like it’s reporting raw values.
Which trim wheel by he way! It looks really good.

Thank you for your reply, I will put a mark on the trim wheel for the 250.
The trim wheel is "Gear Falcon" I got it from Etsy - https://www.etsy.com/ca/search?q=gear%2 ... search_bar

Re: Trim is not Centered Correctly
It's good to know that there is neutral trim, and there is takeoff trim. And many times they are referred to as the same, when in the Comanche's case, there is only one marking. It sort of makes sense if you think about it because, the pilot doesn't need to know and it actually avoids confusion. Just set it to the center marker for takeoff.

I cannot get the Saitek trim wheel to work at all in the Comanche. It does not respond to inputs.

I have one setup here and it works perfectly. The wheel has to be set to an axis. Does your trim wheel work in the default 172 but not the Comanche?

Ah OK, I have the dedicated trim wheel here. I also have that Saitek panel here and will test it today.

I have the trim wheel on this unit working, you have to open the tablet / controls / advanced options and increase the elevator trim speed. I put it all the way right.
All I did to get the panel to work was install the MSFS driver. I didn't need to open the controls and map anything.

Re: Trim is not Centered Correctly
I have left mine in the centre. One "tick" on the trim wheel gives a small change, but for some reason the trim switch on my yoke moves perhaps three times that. It is using a different binding, under the Controllers menu rather than a SPAD binding, but this works nicely.
The trim switch can be used for making much coursers changes, such as at the top of the climb, and then the trim wheel can be used to fine tune.

Re: Trim is not Centered Correctly
Thank you. Please tell me how to get the MSFS driver. I am not sure what you are referring to. I am using the Saitek stand alone alone trim wheel.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Re: Trim is not Centered Correctly
I think they are referring to the Logitech drivers.

The image I showed was from the program SPAD. I don't use the above driver, and control them external to the sim.

I was puzzled by that number, and dug into it.HobAnagerik wrote: ↑30 Jul 2023, 12:28 Neutral trim is actually -34.4%, not 0% as you may be thinking.
That number is actually -3.44° (degrees) or 34.4% of the available trim down.
