Posted: 09 Nov 2024, 21:55
Fellow Misfits: Our next tour will be from North to South through Eastern Asia. Here is an overview of the planned tour: https://skyvector.com/?ll=6.22793391946 ... MER%20YMML.
As you can see, we start out from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Airport in Russia (UHSS), and we'll fly over the Japanese Islands, Taiwan, Manila in the Philippines, back up to Hong Kong, over to Hanoi, down to Phucat (say that ten times real fast), over to check the action in Bangkok, down through Malaysia, Jakarta, Darwin, Australia, ending up at Melbourne International (YMML). The whole flight is 9,838 nm, and will take about 44 hours in a Lockheed Connie. Maybe we'll fly some of the legs in our P-51s, I dunno. Either way, the rest of you guys will have plenty of time to dream up our next tour...
OK - here is flight 01, which will take place on Friday, November 15th, 2024: https://skyvector.com/?ll=43.3611321009 ... HWE%20RJSK.
We start from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (UHSS) and fly south via VORs WKE (115.30 MHz), CHE (116.90 MHz), and HWE (112.30 MHz) to our first stop, Akita Airport (RJSK). The flight distance is 459 nm and should take us about 2 hours and 15 minutes in a Lockheed Constellation, assuming a cruise altitude of 20,000 ft MSL.
Meet on: Digital Theme Park on JoinFS.
Comms through A2A Discord channel Flying Chat 1 unless that one is busy, in which case we'll use alternates 2 or 3.
Aircraft: Lockheed Constellation or equivalent.
Takeoff time 20:00 Zulu, 12:00 local.
Local takeoff time: 12:00.
Weather: Historic.
