FS2024 freezes when selecting the Comanche

Been away from the sim for a few weeks, everything was fine then. However now, when selecting the Comanche the sim freezes. Have to kill sim with task manager... then when trying to load the sim after that it freezes at the first screen (quit to desktop | accesibility | start|). The only way to get FS2024 to behave again is to remove the Comanche from the community folder so that it lauches with the default 172.I had a backup of the comanche that I copied when It was working earlier in the year, and I copied that back over - but exactly the same thing happens.

It's as if something has changed with FS2024 that is causing it.

Help, my beloved comanche is unusable.

I have also tried an uninstall and reinstall, reapplied the hotfix and removed any other comanche livereries. Still freezes the sim when selecting it.

Have you tried deleting all the caches? Rolling cache, DX cache etc. etc. ...
Is this standard 2024 or are you running a beta?

Just tried that, no difference. Selecting the comanche still results in a freeze. Did a repair of files. Emptied the community folder. Reinstalled the comanche fresh again. Just had only that in the folder and same thing. I just cannot nail this down to anything. Only happens with this aircraft. All others are fine. I am out of ideas. Can Dev please help me.

Can you delete the "/work" folder located here:

This will restore Comanche to default state, in case the save files got corrupted somehow. Make a backup of the files before deletion.

Nope same issue. Note my path is AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\WASM\MSFS2020\a2a-aircraft-pa24. When installing the comanche I chose the path to FS2024 community folder. Work folder deleted and still froze. Uninstalled again. Removed the next folder up as well (a2a-aircraft-pa24). Still freezes. How do I nuke the comanche completely of every file folder and registry entry? This is driving me nuts as it used to work fine. Is there some setting in FS2024 that I may have altered that could cause it? Could it be something in the marketplace library that is conflicting, as this worked before the marketplace came alive.

The only two locations where Comanche files can affect MSFS are the Community folder and the aforementioned \work folder. Keep in mind that if you remove the dll files in WASM\MSFS2020\a2a-aircraft-pa24 folder, it will take a few minutes on the first aircraft load to recompile wasm again, this may look like the sim is frozen. This process repeats after each sim update.

As for marketplace library conflict, I can't rule it out completely, but we're not aware of any such issues. We only interact with 3rd party GPS units, the stock Asobo GPS units (which I don't think have any extra marketplace packs in 2024), and our livery pack add-on.

Then I just cant get this thing to load without freezing the sim. I have uninstalled reinstalled, tried installing to the original MSFS2020 folder and copying the AC over to FS2024, I have tried installing it to the FS2024 folder, I have nuked the work folder, in that path above (I also have another work folder under the appdata in MSFS2020) I have applied the hotfix, I have used the new updated configurator... just one big freeze. I have tried waiting half an hour after selecting it.

THIS WAS ALL WORKING FINE UNTIL I TOOK A HOLIDAY AND CAME BACK.


Can someone please please help me with a detailed step by step nuke and reinstall for FS2024. I am happy to lose all of my hobbes, configs etc and I do not need this for FS2020.

To completely wipe out all sim settings after uninstallation I think you have to remove the AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe folder.

Great, no way am I signing up for SU2 just in the hope to get one AC working. Very disappointed, $70 aircraft made usesless for no apparrent reason.I made no changes to my well tuned and stable settings; WEEKS in the tweaking. Came back from holiday - loaded the duke turbine and kodiak 100 perfectly. This is the only AC that this freezing happens with. I have tried so much to get this to work. Jesus.

Now I have done a full uninstall of FS2024, reinstalled it, emptied the community folder, ran the comanche installer, applied the hotfix, loaded the sim, selected the community folder in Marketplace My Library, restarted the sim then selected the comanche and FREEEEEEEZE.

The %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\WASM\MSFS2020\a2a-aircraft-pa24/ folder never gets created.

So I still have a $70 icon in my hangar that freezes FS2024 100% of the time.

Does anyone anywhere have a solution to this as I have wasted untold hours on this and I have now given up on ever flying my fav bird again.

Do you happen to have that folder (and contents) in a backup anywhere?

I'm guessing that the folder only gets created after a *successful* Comanche flight <??>. However - if clearing that folder was the suggested "fix" then that clearly didn't work either ((

No I only kept the configurator settings file backed up.

Tried a revo uninstall.
Tried different DLSS version including the original.
Reset all graphics to default.

STILL UNRESOLVED.
Waiting for Su2.

Perhaps one day a Dev will step in with a fix. Until then if you have your comanche freeze the sim you can try all the steps I have and give up as I ended up doing. Moving on from this and flying all of the AC in my hangar where this is doesn't occur. Basically every AC except this one.
